Clutter-Free Holiday Gifts

Selecting the perfect gift for family and friends is an important part of holiday preparation. We want the person to like, use and enjoy what we select. If you are struggling to find gifts for your loved ones, consider giving a gift that won’t add to or become more clutter.

The gift of service
For the hard to buy for person, consider giving the gift of services like babysitting, personal training, home cleaning services, a car detailing or professional organizing. Our team is happy to provide gift certificates for our services and do so every year. Please visit our website at decluttercoachdeb.com.

Memberships
Memberships are great gifts too. How about a digital magazine subscription, AAA membership, a zoo or museum membership or a subscription to Netflix? As Eddie from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation would say, “it’s the gift that keeps on giving the whole year!”

The gift of learning
A pottery, painting, dance, sewing or music class or lesson would be a fun gift and appreciated by all ages. For the sports enthusiasts, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, karate, tennis or yoga lessons would thrill them. For runners, see if your local running club offers gift certificates for race entries.

Gift cards
Everyone loves a gift card! Gas cards, pre-paid calling cards, iTunes, Kindle cards or one to a favorite restaurant or local coffee shop are always appreciated. Another great one, especially for families with children, is gift cards to the movies. It’s giving an experiential gift and helps defray the cost of taking a large family. For teenagers, movie cards also work great along with trampoline parks, ice skating, pizza places or a general gift card to the mall so they can decide how to spend it!

The gift of pampering
This is sure to be a hit for both men AND women. Massages, facials, manicures and pedicures are the perfect way to help someone relax and declutter their mind.

Food! (No clutter after it’s all eaten!)
Food such as fruit baskets, bagel platters, cookie or pastry platters, a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine always makes a good gift for the person who has everything. Home cooked meals or cookies are always a hit, too.

The gift of time
Plan a special day or weekend getaway. Get tickets to the game or a show.

Make a donation
Since it is the season of giving, make a donation to a charity of in the person’s name to an organization or cause that you know is special to them.

There’s so many ways to avoid clutter and give meaningful gifts. If you have any favorites to add, please share them with us on Facebook or email deb@decluttercoachdeb.com.
